I'm Valerie Lopez, a native of Corpus Christi, Texas. My passion for photography began in childhood—I was rarely without a camera in hand, capturing everyone and everything around me. By my teenage years, my bedroom walls were entirely covered with photographs I had taken, a testament to my growing obsession with photography.

When my first son was born, I documented his entire life: his sports, school activities, and everyday moments at home. He quickly grew accustomed to mom having a camera constantly in her hands.

My dedication to photography deepened profoundly when my second son was born. I photographed him from the first day he was born. I didn't realize then that those images would become all I had left to cherish of him after he passed away just one month after he was born. In the years following his death, I began to see life differently. I started to capture not just the obvious subjects before me, but also the subtle details that are easily missed: the quiet smiles, genuine laughter, the unconscious tender touch shared between loved ones, the knowing glances—these were the moments I found myself noticing more than ever before.

My love for photography evolved into a true passion. I understood firsthand how profoundly powerful images could be. My work became intentional and purposeful, moving beyond simply capturing beautiful photos. I now want to share my perspective with anyone willing to trust me with their story.
